10 Eco-Friendly Companies Perfect for the Gift-Giving Season

Updated: Nov 23, 2019

Struggling to find a way to be eco-friendly this holiday season? No worries, I have you covered! You'll find ten amazing companies below that produce sustainable items and do their own share of active environmental work! From clothing to baby items to beauty products, you will find all the gifts you need from these eco-friendly companies.

(I am not being compensated in any way for this post, it is just a list of companies I am fond of!)

1. Save Lands

I love this company! They have a partnership with Trees.org and for every item that is sold they plant 12 trees. Unlike other stores that plant trees for each purchase, Save Lands plants them with each ITEM that is purchased! Their website has an FAQ section that answers questions like "How exactly do trees help people?" and "What do you do for water?"

Their array of items ranges from jewelry to hats to beautiful tees and hoodies! They ship worldwide and have a wonderful exchange policy.

2. 4Ocean

If you have social media, chances are you have heard of 4Ocean! They are a company that is actively fighting the pollution in our oceans. Like Save Lands, for each item purchased they remove one pound of trash. They sell unique bracelets, metal straws, reusable water bottles, clothing, and more! They update the amount of trash removed from our oceans every day and have a list of the places they are working in currently. You can participate in their clean-ups and earn service hours, too!

3. Wholesome Culture

Wholesome Culture is a relatively new clothing store! Their clothes are made with water-based ink and the company believes in a plant-based lifestyle. They have already donated $50,000 to animals in need and continue to donate part of their profits. They have a section on their website where you can "Shop By Vibe" and choose between a plant-based lifestyle, protecting oceans, and a few others. The website is super user friendly and they have beautiful accessories and apparel! They even have tips for a plant-based lifestyle if you are looking to switch it up in your everyday life.

4. Keep Nature Wild

This company is rockin' it with their mission and products! For each product sold they pick up one pound of trash. They have a really nice range of items that are all perfect for someone who likes being outdoors. Their core values are inspiring and cheerful - the first and second are "Be a doer" and "When in doubt, be generous." They encourage activity, whether it is taking a hike or just a walk down the street. All of their designs are super neat and more affordable than other shops I've looked into.

5. Package Free Shop

This company might be my favorite on the list. They don't use any plastic packaging and have already done SO much to reduce pollution. They sell products like reusable shopping bags, bottles and mugs, clothing and accessories, and even beauty products! Not only are their products really cool and environmentally friendly, but they are also really affordable. I could spend a couple hours shopping on their site. They also have shops in New York that you can go to if you don't want to shop online.

6. Pela Case

Just like 4Ocean, if you have social media chances are you've heard of Pela. They sell 100% biodegradable phone cases for both iPhone and Android. There's a multiplicity of designs and colors for a phone case you (or a loved one) will adore. They can be a little bit expensive, but I do think it is worth it in order to stop plastic at the source. Pela has already kept 290,461 pounds of plastic from being produced! If you just got a new phone and need a case, Pela is highly recommended.

7. TenTree

Like their website says, "Tentree keeps you looking good, while you keep the planet looking great." Ten trees are planted for each purchase. They sell sustainable clothing and you can shop by material (hemp, recycled polyester, or Tencel)! They are another site that is a bit more on the expensive side, but again, worth it! Their mission and values are awesome.

8. &Keep

&Keep is an awesome, eco-friendly shop that is taking the steps to "create a better tomorrow, today." They have a wide selection of items all for affordable prices. They sell toothbrushes, baby items, beauty products, clothing, and more. Basically anything you need, you can buy plastic-free from a company that produces their items ethically. They even have biodegradable paper tape that is perfect for wrapping presents this holiday season!

9. Happy Earth Apparel

Happy Earth Apparel uses sustainable materials and puts 50% of their profits towards environmental conservation. Not only do they give 50% back, they also plant one tree with each purchase. They support different companies who are fighting for a happier and healthier planet (you can see which companies on their website). Like their name says, they are an apparel shop. Thankfully, they have affordable prices and sales are common on their website! They also have free shipping on US orders over $100!

10. GB Earth

Last but certainly not least! GB Earth is a Canadian company and for each purchase they plant one tree. They have products that are sustainable and aesthetically pleasing. They have a small selection right now because they are a relatively new company, but they plan on expanding!
